The 乐播传媒视频 Foundation Awards $75,000 in College Scholarships to Five Students Who Lost a Parent Without Life Insurance

About the Program

For the sixth consecutive year, the 乐播传媒视频 Foundation is proudly partnering with to aid the financial burden for college students who have lost a parent without life insurance. This $75,000 investment in the Life Lessons scholarship program was a part of September鈥檚 (LIAM). For twenty years, LIAM has been educating consumers about the importance of life insurance and its role in protecting families鈥� financial security. The Life Lessons scholarships supported by the 乐播传媒视频 Foundation are awarded to students in states where 乐播传媒视频 employees live and work.

This year, more than 200 乐播传媒视频 Volunteers reviewed applications from students, explaining how the death of a parent without life insurance impacted their lives. Students opened up about the loss and hardships they鈥檝e faced at such a young age; from losing both his father and uncle (who was a father figure) within the same year, domestic violence, a young woman who could no longer afford rent after her father passed and was left homeless, and almost not attending a dream university due to financial constraints. The resiliency that each of these students displayed is nothing short of inspiring, and it鈥檚 an honor to support them in this next chapter of their lives.

To date, the 乐播传媒视频 Foundation has provided more than $450,000 in college scholarships in partnership with Life Happens. As an organization, we are deeply connected to the Life Lessons Scholarship Program as it showcases the importance of having life insurance protection, as well as the impact of being financially secure, a key initiative within our philanthropy program.

I鈥檓 currently a sophomore at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

What are you majoring in?
Biology of Global Health

Where do you hope to be in five years?
I hope to be attending medical school.

The opportunity to continue with my education is truly life changing, and I cannot overstate the impact this scholarship will have on my future, my ambitions, and my family鈥檚 wellbeing.鈥�

Boise State University

What are you majoring in?
Nursing

What is one interesting fact about yourself?
I played basketball for six years.

Where do you hope to be in five years?
I hope to have my degree in nursing and specialize in postpartum nursing so that I can take care of babies.

鈥淭o the people who picked my essay, from the bottom of my heart thank you so much. This scholarship is incredibly helpful, and I am beyond thankful. I get to experience my first year of college without the burden of the all the expenses and for that I am even more excited to jump into this new year. Thank you again to everyone involved with this scholarship and helping me with college.鈥�

Major: Biology

What college are you attending in the fall?
MiraCosta Community College in Oceanside with the goal of transferring to a University in San Diego in the future.

What are you majoring in?
Biology for Transfer, with the goal of pursuing a degree in General Biology or Biology with an emphasis in Zoology at a university.

What is one interesting fact about yourself?
I volunteer with an organization called Public Watchdogs, which my late father served on the board for.

Where do you hope to be in five years?
I currently work as a vet assistant at an animal hospital and my goal is to take the knowledge I gain from my undergraduate biological studies and work experience to apply it to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

鈥淭his scholarship means that I no longer have to fear if I can continue to live where I live. This means that I no longer have to prioritize work over my education, and I can finally excel in my studies. Thank you again for believing in my potential and caring about an event in my life that set me back years.鈥�

California Baptist University

What are you majoring in?
Mechanical Engineering

What is one interesting fact about yourself?
I鈥檓 the first person on my mom鈥檚 side of the family to attend a university, which has inspired me to apply myself to the best of my abilities in hopes of being a role model for younger members of my family.

Where do you hope to be in five years?
I hope to have graduated from CBU either gaining practical experience in mechanical engineering by interning or working for a company that designs and builds roller coasters.

What is one interesting fact about yourself?
I have 18 siblings.

Where do you hope to be in five years?
In five years, I hope to have graduated college with my degree in social studies education and be in a school teaching and helping students.
